Gesellschaft für Fantastikforschung
The Gesellschaft für Fantastikforschung (GFF) [Association for Research in the Fantastic] is the first academic association in the German-speaking world committed to furthering research on the fantastic in art, literature and culture. It strives to broaden scholarly and cultural insight in this area. To that end, the association publishes its membership journal “Zeitschrift für Fantastikforschung” twice a year as well as its own book series “Beiträge zur Fantastikforschung”. In addition, an annual conference provides the opportunity for a membership assembly, taking place in different locations each year.

The Lord Ruthven Assembly
Devoted to the scholarly study of the vampire in the arts, The Lord Ruthven Assembly is the only organization officially affiliated with the IAFA.  Its objectives include the serious pursuit of scholarship and research focusing on the vampire/revenant figure in a variety of disciplines.  Members actively participate in the annual conference of the IAFA, offering several sessions of academic papers.

International Gothic Association [IGA] The International Gothic Association unites teachers, scholars, students, artists, writers and performers from around the world who are interested in any aspect of gothic culture: fiction, drama, poetry, art, film, music, architecture, popular culture and technology. It promotes the study and dissemination of information on gothic culture from the mid eighteenth century to the contemporary moment. The only association of its kind, the IGA is the academic centre for people interested in an analysis of the gothic.
