I&#8217;m pleased to announce a few personnel changes at the journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, we want to say a special thank you to Sean Moreland,\nwho is stepping down from his position as Associate Book Reviews Editor for <em>JFA<\/em>. &nbsp;Sean&#8217;s keen editorial eye\nhelped whip many a review into shape and will certainly&nbsp;be missed! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other news, we want to thank the following people who are\nstepping into new roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Associate Book\nReviews Editor James Hamby<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James Hamby, a frequent reviewer for the journal, is the\nAssociate Director of the Writing Center at Middle Tennessee State University,\nwhere he also teaches classes in literature and composition. His\ndissertation,&nbsp;<em>David Copperfield: Victorian Hero<\/em>, argues that\nDickens created a new archetypal hero for the nineteenth century out of his own\nbiography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Managing Editor\nChristine Mains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long-time Associate Editor Christine Mains is now serving as\nManaging Editor for <em>JFA<\/em>. Formerly of\nUniversity of Calgary and Mount Royal University, she is now an editor at\nOxford University Press as well as a fantasy scholar. Her pioneering essay on\nPatricia McKillip\u2019s fiction won the Graduate Student Award (now the David\nHartwell Award) at ICFA in 2005, and she has published on McKillip and other\nfantasy authors as well as on SF television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Assistant Production\nEditor Tiffany Brooke Martin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tiffany Brooke Martin, who served as editorial assistant of <em>JFA<\/em> for three years, has rejoined the\njournal as Assistant Production Editor. She has a PhD in English and the\nTeaching of English from Idaho State University. Her dissertation was on Owen\nBarfield\u2019s writings with a focus on fantasy and fiction, and she is an adviser\nand editor for the Owen Barfield Literary Estate. Tiffany currently works in\ncommunications for Roquette, a global company that produces plant-based\ningredients for food, health, and nutrition markets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Editorial Assistant\nPaul Williams<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>JFA<\/em>&#8216;s new\neditorial assistant is Paul Williams, who received his MA in English from Idaho\nState University in spring 2018. A former high school English teacher, his\ninterests include narrative theory, alternative history, religion, and any\nother topic he can fit under the umbrella of fantasy literature. He is\ncurrently pursuing his PhD at ISU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to everyone who gives their time and energy to making\nthe journal a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brian Attebery<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JFA relies on the hard work of a group of dedicated group of people (you can find all of them listed here).
